Patio Installation Project in Glenn Heights, TX
Project Overview
We recently completed a patio installation for a family in Glenn Heights, TX who wanted to make better use of their backyard. The space had great potential, but the grass would get muddy after rain and there was nowhere dry to sit or entertain. The goal was to create a comfortable, shaded area for grilling, relaxing, and outdoor dining.
Customer Problem or Challenge
The yard had poor drainage and uneven terrain, which made it hard to enjoy or maintain. The homeowner had a basic concrete pad from a previous builder, but it was cracked and too small for their needs. They also wanted a design that matched the house’s brick tones and gave the yard a more polished, functional look.
Approach and Solution
We began by grading and leveling the area to correct the drainage issues and prevent standing water. The customer chose earth-tone pavers that complemented their home’s exterior, and we added a compacted gravel base for durability. Our team built out a 14′ x 20′ patio with a slight slope to encourage runoff, and added a border for visual contrast.
To increase comfort, we included a pergola for shade and left room for future seating walls. The client also requested a curved edge to soften the shape and blend it naturally with the rest of the yard.

The finished patio gave the backyard a brand-new feel and added over 280 square feet of usable outdoor space. The customer was thrilled with the design and loved hosting their first weekend BBQ just days after completion. They’ve since added lighting and outdoor furniture and plan to expand their garden around the edges.
